DIRECT RULE, this was the administrative approach in which African traditional leadership were  replaced by European bureaucratic system. Under this system the European colonial officials ruled directly without involving any African chiefs..., Direct rule approach was mainly used in colonies with a considerably larger populations of white settlers such as Zimbabwe, and Kenya under the British and in Algeria under the French ,It was also used by the Germans in Namibia, Tanganyika, Togo and Cameroon........, Prepared by Mwl.
